Dog Toys

Every once in a while I like to buy a dog toy for my best friend, a yellow lab named Lucy. She loves to chew, so the cheap plastic toys don’t last, and I actually think they might be dangerous because she can chew through them and swallow most of that toy in just a minute or two. I am always scouting the pet supply aisles of the different stores in search of a new toy for her. She loves anything with a squeaker in it. Haven’t found anything or interesting in quite a while. Maybe the internet would be helpful with this quest.

I never saw this commercial before

I enjoy going to YouTube and looking up funny commercials – I’m always surprised to see how many there are on YouTube that I’ve never seen before. Case in point – this cat herders commercial! Very funny!

Not your average key-logger

So while our dog was off seeing the countryside the last time, my wife spent some time on the Internet looking to see if we could buy a GPS tracking device to put on her collar. We actually found a few different devices that would work, but they sure are expensive! We found one that wasn’t very expensive to buy, but then there was a monthly fee for the tracking service that we really would prefer not to have to pay.

While looking around for that tracking device, it was amazing to see how much technology has advanced in the general field of security. For example, the old fashioned computer Key logger devices seem to be obsolete due to the invention of a small USB iBot that is the size of a thumb drive and you only plug it into your computer for a few moments while it downloads the security file onto your computer. So that little device helps you keep track of what your computer is doing while you’re not at home! Isn’t it amazing what technology does nowadays!

Durn dog

One of the bigger annoyances in my life is one of my dogs, who seems to enjoy cavorting around the neighborhood every chance she gets. We HAVE a fenced in yard she is supposed to stay in, but every now and then someone accidentally (I hope accidentally) leaves the gate open and she is off like a rocket.

Usually she comes home in an hour or two, no harm done. But the last time she took off she was gone for three days. We were sure she was gone forever. Naturally we were thrilled when she was found five miles from home and the person who found us called (thank goodness for dog tags!) and we were able to go get her. She was tired, and glad to get home, but I don’t think that her wandering days are over quite yet.

I can’t believe it

Yesterday I went to a friend’s house to walk their dog at lunch time while they were out of town. I could not believe my eyes when I pulled into the driveway and saw a large box in front of the garage that had been left there by UPS! It was a wide screen HDTV! Left in the driveway! Clearly visible from the road in a heavily populated suburb!

Well, I put the television in their garage and then walked the dogs. I can’t believe that UPS would leave something like that where they did! What in the world was the delivery man thinking? Is there no common sense in the world anymore?
