Not just for kitchens

I really like it when my wife decides that she is tired of her old spice rack and buys a new one.  I’ve inherited one or two of her old kitchen spice racks in the past and I’ve used them in my garage and work areas.  For example, I’ve used an old wall spice rack to store various nuts, bolts, screws, washers, and nails, rubber bands, razor blades, and cotter pins.

One of my wife’s favorite re-purposing uses of used spice racks is to use them to store a lot of her smaller craft supplies.  She uses them to keep pins, beads, sequins, buttons and other assorted small crafting items.  So, whenever I find a spice rack at a yard sale, or hear of someone getting rid of a used spice rack, I’m usually the first one to claim it!   I think that the next time she says she wants to buy a new one I’ll suggest that she gets one that mounts under the kitchen cabinets, to save space.

Chuck’d

This is some serious kick-butt! I’ve always enjoyed watching Chuck Norris in the Texas Ranger show. So when I found this video, I laughed so hard! I hope you enjoy it too!

It’s getting easier

One of the things that I like about the Internet is how much easier it is becoming to get involved in Stock Trading.  Back when I first started to invest in IRA Accounts and the Stock Market, the Internet had not even been invented!  Yes, I really am that old!

I can remember the first time I wanted to buy stock, I called a friend of mine who was a broker and told him that I wanted to buy some stock in Disney.  He argued with me, telling me that it was not a good investment!

With the Internet at my beck and call, I can perform Online Trading any time, day or night, without anyone arguing with me about what stocks I should want to buy.  I like that a lot!  And for the record, I DID buy that Disney stock, and it has performed quite well, thank you very much!

A video of the classic Dodge Charger

A great classic car – the Dodge Charger

My Aunt Helen is finally talking about giving me her 1966 dodge charger that she’s had stored in her garage for several decades now.  Uncle Stan bought the car brand new and it is in cherry condition.  Ever since Uncle Stan passed away the car has been unused.  I’ve been begging her for a very long time to let me buy it from her because I love classic cars and would take great care of it.

I think that what finally convinced her to let me have it is the fact that she is thinking about moving into an assisted living place and she needs to start cleaning out her place and getting rid of things that can’t go with her.  And let’s face it, even though the california car insurance premiums she’s been paying won’t break her budget anytime soon, why should she continue to pay for it if all it is going to do is sit in her garage?

So I’m planning on taking out some classic car insurance on it myself and find a trucking company to truck it home for me.  I’m really excited to finally get my hands on it!
