The end of the world?

Last night I was watching television.  Almost everything was reruns, so I decided to watch the History Channel.  It was a show about how so many different people/cultures have predicted the end of the world.  Supposedly that will be happening right around the Winter Solstice in 2012.  I think it is fascinating that so many predictions revolve around that date.  I wonder if it has something to do with the numbers – for example the date will be 12/21/2012.  So many 1s and 2s.  The show certainly was quite convincing that the end of the world really might be coming!  I’m starting to wish I had just gone to bed!

Boxing match

One of my wife’s best ideas ever was to buy my father a couple of Mayweather boxing tickets for the big fight coming up in March in Las Vegas.  I know that Dad and Mom have been wanting to go to Las Vegas for a second honeymoon for a long time now, and we think that this is a good time for them to finally take it.  Now we’re trying to get them a good rate on a nice place to stay and make up an itinerary for the rest of their travel arrangements.  Dad has been a big boxing fan for as long as I can remember, and he’s really excited about the trip and the match!
