The next time I have to relocate

My sister-in-law is thinking about moving from Tennessee to Alabama.  The job she has been working on for the past two years has finally ended – her contract has finished, and the best new job offer that she has is a few hours away from where she lives.  She has been discussing with her potential employer whether telecommuting is an option or not.  She has been talking with us about the different ways she can handle it if she does end up moving.

She’s been thinking about using one of the budget van lines she’s been hearing about, but doesn’t know know if she can find good quality movers or not.  She keeps saying “you get what you paid for!”  The problem is, that she really doesn’t have a lot of money to spend, so I’ve been advising her to use one of the budget van lines or arrange for a one way truck rental and get some friends to help her load and unload the truck.  I’m sure that the next time I have to relocate (which I hope will not be for a very long time) I will end up using a one way truck.  I think that is the most economical way to approach relocating to a different state.

Break ins

Every night when we sit down to eat dinner I turn the television on.  I turn it to one of my favorite shows on Sci-Fi.  My wife always asks me to let her watch the news instead; she says it is the only time she gets to catch up on what is going on in the world.  I don’t like watching the news – it is upsetting because I hear about all of the bad things going on in the area.  All of the accidents, the home invasions, the muggings and shootings.  There just is not enough good news on television!  I especially get upset hearing about so many homes being broken into.  I guess with the economy as bad as it is, more people are turning to crime as a way to get the things that they need and want.
