Our niece Emily is starting to “show.” It’s about time; after all she IS four months pregnant! She’s been trying to hide her little baby belly as long as she can, but she is not going to be able to hide it much longer. Fortunately for her, there are a lot of loose fitting clothes that are “in style” right now so that people are not going to just jump to the assumption that she is wearing maternity clothes if they don’t know for sure that she is pregnant. She is worried that strangers are going to start to come up to her and put their hands on her belly and ask her questions about the baby. She doesn’t like strangers touching her; she feels violated!
Anyway, my wife and I are going to give her a $150 shopping spree at kikisfashions.com to buy herself some nice and trendy clothes. When she comes over this weekend, we’re going to sit her down at our computer and help her order what she wants from their website. She should be happy about that!
My wife saves everything. She is a true pack-rat. Sometimes she drives me nuts, collecting so many things. She is so sure that she will find a use for something and “need it” once it’s been thrown out. Maybe she’s been over-influenced by her grandparents always telling her their “Great Depression” mantra of “use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.” Anyway, the point I’m trying to get to is that she saves the envelopes from the incoming mail if there is no writing on the back of it. She uses them to make lists and write notes. For shopping lists, she slips her coupons she will be using inside the envelope. I have to admit that’s pretty clever! And yes, after the shopping is done she DOES throw away the envelope. (Thank goodness!)
I was reading some good articles about webhosting today on the webhostingrating.com website. I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can about using the Internet to my best advantage, so I’m always happy to find sites that teach me things about getting domains, web hosting, and creating websites and how to best use them. I know that this technology is still really only in it’s infancy, and that there is going to be a lot of new and exciting applications to learn about and try out.
I’m constantly amazed when I learn about the newest ways computers and satellites and the Internet are all interacting with each other in many different ways that have an affect on so many people’s lives. With all of today’s modern technologies, I’m still surprised that the computers have not found the cure for the common cold, or cancer, or been able to find Bin Laden! Maybe we’re being spoiled and expect too much. What do you think?
I love the feeling of the sun on my face, a warm breeze caressing my chest, and sand between my toes. And I love going to places where there are amusement parks to go to when I’ve tired of relaxing on the beach. My parents have vacationed in Myrtle Beach for years, and they have always told me that they enjoyed it, but never told me anything about it. It wasn’t until last week that my friend Jim told me that he goes to a Myrtle Beach Resort every year to have a golf vacation. He said that his wife spends her time on the beach while he hits the golf courses. Apparently there are a gazillion golf courses and Myrtle Beach Resorts dedicated to golfers there.
He got my wife interested in going and staying at one of the Myrtle Beach Hotels right on the beach so we could just walk out from the hotel and onto the sand. I’ve been checking out the tourist attractions in the area and was surprised that there are a lot of attractions, not just golf to do there. So maybe we’ll consider going there for a vacation soon. One of the advantages of going there is that it is driving distance away from us so we don’t have to deal with the hassle of airports! Yeah, a definite possibility!
Last night I dreamt that I was a homeless person. All I owned was the clothes on my back and a blanket. I was sleeping on a park bench one cold night and woke up because a bird had flown overhead and crapped on my head! When I woke up, I looked around and saw a couple of vicious dogs nearby. They were barking at me, but I couldn’t hear them! They were being restrained by a strong chain, thank goodness!
As I kept looking around, I noticed there was a two-person tent nearby. My younger sister was trying to sleep inside the tent (I could see her through the open door) but she had no blanket, so she was shivering with the cold. I decided to get up and go into the tent with her to share my blanket with her, thinking maybe we could both sleep better that way. Before I could get to her, however, a couple of strangers got to her and started to tie her up with heavy chains and padlocks so she couldn’t get away! I confronted them, hitting and yelling at them to stop what they were doing, and they stopped, and my sister and I ran away.
Glad I don’t have dreams like that every night! I wonder what the dream meant!
