The last day of the month

Well, the last day of the month is here.  One more down the drain.  Warmer weather should be right around the corner.  We’ve been very luck to have had such a mild winter, but just the same I get tired of the cooler weather.  I like not having to wear long sleeve shirts or sweaters or coats.  I much prefer T-shirts.  I should probably move to Florida where I could just live in T-shirts, shorts and sandals!  But this is where I’m living for now, and I’m trying to make the best of it.  If the economy doesn’t turn around pretty soon, though, I might just have to buy a tent and really move to Florida and find a place where I can pitch the tent and live in it!  Finding a way to pay the bills is really hard right now for many people, and my family is feeling the pinch too!  But for now, I’m just glad that the worst of the winter weather is over and that spring is on its way!

Happy birthday to me

Today is my birthday!  This year it happened to fall on a Sunday, so I was glad to have the day off of work.  It’s always been strange to have the same birthday as our first President, George Washington.  It’s always been kinda cool to share the day with the first American President!  But when I was a kid it was tough because we always had a winter break from school that week so my birthday was never celebrated in school with a classroom party.  That made me feel rather left out; all of the other kids had birthday parties in school where the kids mother brought in cupcakes and the class sang “Happy Birthday.”  Now that I’m older I HATE that song.  I wonder if it’s because when I was younger I never had class room birthday parties?  Hmmmmm…..

I’d like to buy an RV

Getting an RV has always been a dream and I have to admit that recently the  yearning for one has been getting stronger.

We stopped by a Camper World kinda place a few years ago and I was crushed to  see how expensive they can be. Not in this budget!

But if you have some cash at hand and bide your time, bargains can be had. I  have been watching the sell it yourself ad books each week and there have been  some good deals out there. I’m just not ready to spend that much money, what  with taxes coming due and the price of gas prices going higher every  day.

But I have wanderlust in my genes and traveling the country by RV gives you a  totally different perspective on the highways and towns on your trip than just  flying in on a plane and taking a cab to the hotel. I want to see the country  close up and do it while I’m young enough to enjoy the experience.

Spring – when will you arrive?

The groundhogs were conflicted.

The Yankee groundhog in Pennsylvania has declared that Winter is here and is staying on.

His Rebel neighbor down in Atlanta has declared that Spring is coming.

Since we are halfway between the two, perhaps we should get our own groundhog to help us out?

I don’t know much about keeping groundhogs, but I’ve kept dogs for years. It can’t be that hard.
