January is too long

No matter where you live in the U.S., January means winter.

In the northern states it means the snow is on the ground and not melting any time soon.

In the southern states it means the ground is brown, the water is gray and the sky is gray. Everything looks like a black and white photograph.

The fortunate ones don’t have to work in the bitter cold and they get to go home to warm homes with loved ones waiting to greet them.

The rest of us just try to get through the day and wait out the winter. Spring will come as soon as the groundhog allows.
